OK, can you introduce yourself, in short?
My name is ***.
OK, how old are you? Where do you come from?
I’m embarrassed to say I’m 50, I come from *** in the UK.
And I’m 44 from Nottingham… -ish.
OK. What was the problem?
How long were you taking drugs?
Five years I was on drugs.
For me it’s been over 20, just on heroin. I was taking other drugs before, but I’m not about to get into the boring ones.
How did you find our clinic?
We found it on the internet, *** mum found you on the internet.
OK, in your opinion, how was the treatment?
The treatment’s fantastic, the people are fantastic, the cleaner’s are fantastic, the nurses, the doctors, everybody are very helpful, very quick to help. Any problems, you go to them and it’s sorted like that. Thank you very much.
And that’s what I’d say, if you’ve got a problem, you should always call up doctor or a nurse, otherwise you can’t get sorted, but if you do, you get pills for it, you get it sorted, but if you don’t say, you don’t get, so…
If you’re gonna be a polite Englishman and not ask… Don’t be rude, but ask and you’ll get… You may have to wait, but you normally get if you can’t sleep, you get bits of pills at night to help you out. Everything like that. I’ve been to 2 other clinics. The last one killed me, left me leave with the pneumonia and the one before that in Portugal, all they’ve done was put you to sleep with temazepam, which was pathetic, and then just kick you straight out of the door. Here, yes, they say they do rapid detox, but if you’re truthful to yourself and you’ve got a large habit, you can’t do it in 7 days.
You need 2 weeks.
And that’s what I would say. If you’re smoking over a gram a day, forget about it, you have no chance of doing it in 5 days or 3 days for a detox, give yourself more time, spend more money. Make it easier. You can do it and travel and go home and be dead. But it’s up to you. That’s all I can say to you.
Are you satisfied with the treatment?
Very satisfied, everybody’s been fantastic and they all speak English and understand. Between us all, we all understand one another. Nurses, doctors, everybody I thank greatly for saving me.
What is the plan for the future?
Get another job and stay away from drugs. Stay away from drugs and people that take drugs. And get a job, get a life and never have to come back to any clinics to get better again. That is what I plan to do.
***, what about you?
Just go back to working, obviously. Try to stay clean. Get married.
Yeah, we want to get married. I have a horse and a monkey and 2 children that need me as well. So I have all that dependence and a house to keep. I need to get back on track.
Great, we wish you all the best.
